This has been possibly the worst weekend of my life. Saturday, our little fuzzball got sick, and went to the emergency vet. He came home the next day and was fine for a little while, but then his symptoms came back. He made sure Mr. Williams and I were both in the same room with him, and he was very tired and feverish.
Yesterday morning, he was very poorly and we took him in to the local vet. We didn't have the money for the treatment again and there was no chance he would live without it; so we had to say goodbye.
He was only 2 years-old, but I think we gave him the best little cat's life he could have had in his last couple of months. I've never had a pet pass away before, so the house feels very empty and surreal without him and his constant meowing. It's going to be a long time until Mr. Williams and I feel better.

ReplyDeleteI was just crying my eyes out this morning over my 14yo (fur) man I lost almost a year ago. They get under your skin and into your heart, these fur children. He was a very lucky boy who had a beautiful life with wondeful parents.

I am so so sorry to read this. You poor things, I know just what this feels like. We have had cats since I was four years old. One is still around, but one got stolen and the other one had to be put down he was so ill. It's such a horrible pain and the worst part is that a lot of people don't realise just how horrible it is. Pets are part of your family!
