Der schöne Mantel

 This is a vintage Austrian-made Tiroler Loden (wool) cape.  It was a gift from Mr. Williams, and I'm pleased to say, it's plenty warm and very heavy.  Definitely constructed with cold European winters in mind!

It has a beautiful lining, which escaped my notice at first.

    1. You look absolutely GORGEOUS. I am so jealous of that cape - it is so elegant and beautiful, and that colour, WOW! This kind of Tracht (folk costume) is normally super-expensive and very high quality, so I can imagine it must feel lovely and keep you very warm!

    2. I'm afraid I now have to be a Germanist (that's really what they call us) and tell you that "Die schönes Fell" can't be right - that's a feminine definite article with a weak neuter adjective ending. Das schöne Fell would mean "the beautiful fur" - is that what you were going for? SORRY TO BE AN OBNOXIOUS LINGUIST!

      lol I am an Obnoxious Linguist in training, so I don't mind! ;) I've been kind of learning German for awhile, but I can blame this mistake on Google Translate. ;)
      Would 'Mantel' (or something like a 'coat') be suitable instead of 'fell,' or does it require a different adjective?

    This is so, so tremendously lovely! That warm (both in hue and the fabric its made from) red is so becomingly beautiful on you. I've always wanted a similar style of cape, and you've got me coveting one a million times more. :)
