Prohibition Night at the Museum

A week ago, Mr. Williams and I put on our suspenders and stockings—respectively—and headed to the Crime and Punishment Museum in Washington, D.C.  It’s been 80 years since prohibition, and they were celebrating with a 1920s themed tour experience, including a whiskey tasting.
Much like the bootleggers and flappers of the ‘20s, we accept any invitation to dress up and drink.  (More on the drinking later...)

Carnival Evening

There's nothing like a humid summer evening at the carnival, complete with lights, cotton candy, and games.  This is the height of the summer season and the summer experience.  The atmosphere of traveling carnivals has been maintained through decades and cities, and is definitely a fine way to take a step back into the past.

Date Night

Downtown, there's a locally owned drugstore which still offers home delivery, milkshakes, and smashing grilled cheese sandwiches.  In winter of 2010, Mr. Williams and I ventured in for a '20s styled photoshoot...

Nearly a year....

Since our first year anniversary is coming up, I've been thinking back on April 2nd and how much fun it was.  Funny enough, Mr. Williams and I were just saying it was the most low-stress wedding either of us have attended--even though it was our own.  No frantic family, no lost guests, no delayed cakes (homemade) or flowers (bought by myself at a grocery store).  Even though it was just a simple dinner, I know that our friends had fun, and it was wonderful just to spend the day with all of them.
